On the last day of the Marianos' trip to Thailand, we rented a van and drove to Pattaya to visit NongNooch Botanical Garden and Resort. Pattaya is a two-hour drive from Bangkok. Entrance ticket to the garden is Thai Baht 500 each ($16).
Nong Nooch boasts being the biggest and most beautiful botanical garden in South East Asia. I have no vivid recollection of my trip to Singapore's Botanical Garden in 2001 so comparing the two won't do any justice. I have been to Nongnooch three times in the past. The garden is constantly developing. They always have something new to offer.
You can find wide varieties of gardens such as Asian garden, cactus garden, orchid garden and Roman garden. You can explore the garden at your leisure by foot or tram. If I remember it correctly, the ticket for tram ride is Thai Baht 100.

For me, the best part of the trip was the elephant show. I couldn't get enough of it.

Taking a picture with the elephant doesn't come for free. Jen paid Thai Baht 100 for the shot. |

Visitors can ride the elephant for Thai Baht 400/person for 20 minutes. Yeah, that's how expensive it is.
