I attended NIS Songkran Celebration a couple weeks back. Songkran is the traditional Thai New Year. It is celebrated with water fights/splashing water over people. The splashing water symbolizes the washing away of bad things.
This fragrant-herb-filled water was used by the kindergartners during the water pouring ceremony.
Thai garlands were offered to parents.
The kindergartners lined up for the ceremony.
Kids walked on their knees to pay homage to their parents/elders.

When the water was poured and the garland was given, the student then received blessings from the parent/elders.
