Shibuya Honey Toast at After You Dessert Cafe

After You Dessert Cafe which I have come to know while doing my pastry course has opened a new branch at a mall close to home. Back in the days, my girlfriends  from the culinary school and I would make a trip to After You at Siam Paragon located in downtown Bangkok to get some treats. It's a bustling cafe. Their signature desserts are so popular that people wait in long queue just to get a taste of what they offer.

Most of my culinary friends have gone back to their countries after graduation. I felt strange going there on my own. Besides it's not fun eating alone. So,  I went back with my sister and friends in tow. They too got hooked.

My sister and cousin were among the first customers to get in for the first time when the cafe near us opened.  My sister couldn't wait for me to try it.   I can't remember how many times she suggested we meet there for tea or desserts when I came to Bangkok a few times in the last couple months. I kept postponing. This time I went.

My sister's cococino was a rich chocolate drink, served with whipped cream and  a sprinkling of cocoa powder. It also came with a cookie which I forgot to try.

I had a strawberry cheesecake frapuccino at Starbucks earlier. That's a lot of calories to burn off. I don't want to feel guilty for getting another high-calorie drink.  I went for iced matcha latte.

My sister and I shared Shibuya honey toast. It  was served with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

The serving is huge, enough for two people to share. Not for the hungry though. It was just right for us who had just eaten dinner.

Yummers!
